Gibbs Brand at Pendine Sands
Last weekend I took my precious 1932 Ford hot rod to Pendine Sands in Wales for the annual speed trials. http://www.vhra.co.uk/VHRA/Pendine_Sands.html Prior to the event I used Gibbs to protect the underside of the car from corrosion from salt water and sand on the beach and I’m glad to say that after a 600 mile round-trip and two days of racing on the beach all that was needed was a quick hose off and the car was as good as new.

Fastest Car of the Day:
The prize of a Gibbs Brand jacket for the fastest car of the day went to Neil Bennett in his Batten’s Special, running an impressive 114.56 mph. (Batten’s Special was built in 1935 as a Brooklands sports/racer. It features a much modified 1932 Ford V8 chassis and a highly tuned V8 engine. The supercharger is a later addition. This road-legal car has continuous competition history since built. It has been in Neil’s ownership for almost forty years.)
PENDINE SANDS – AMATEUR HOT ROD RACES – Sat 7th Sept
Gibbs Brand are proud sponsors of the 1st Annual Amateur Hot Rod Races at Pendine Sands on September 7th.
This amazing event held by the Vintage Hot Rod Association will be the first time that cars have raced at this, the birth-place of land speed racing since the 1920’s!

COUNTESS OF WARWICK COUNTRY SHOW, ESSEX 25th/26th AUGUST
This weekend sees The Countess of Warwick Country Show . This charity event is held every year in the picturesqe village of Great Easton. The country show is always well attended and is the quintessential English Country Fair..Attractions include : Tug of war, classic tractors, heavy horses, ploughing match and a classic car show, in which the Gibbs Mustang has been invited to attend.
Gibbs Brand at LittleHavens Petrol-Fest Fundraiser.15th Sept.
Chris Easton will be on hand with the Gibbs Shelby Mustang to help raise money at the Little Havens Petrol-Fest The exiting family track-day fundraiser allows members of the public a chance to ride in a selection of exotic and classic cars with all money raised going to LittleHavens Children’s Hospice.
The fun-packed day also includes a classic car show, bmx stunt riders,fair rides and refereshments.
The Gibbs Brand Race car will be there to offer rides in support of this great charity

American Speedfest
Nascar came to Europe for the first time and Brands Hatch hosted the event.
To continue the theme american cars, cheer leaders, monster trucks and even american footballers added to the mix.
The Gibbs mustang was in attendance as well as a varied selection of vehicles including the back to the future Delorean

The day also hosted a full selection of racing,Including of course the Nascar race cars.

Gibbs Brand at Stoneleigh Kit Car Show
The Bank Holiday weekend at The Stoneleigh Kit Car Show saw the launch of a new MX5 based ’34 Ford Coupe kit car from Pro-Laminates the Essex based fibreglass manufacturer.
Nick Vincent, Pro-Laminates’ proprietor wanted to display the chassis in bare metal to show-off the quality of the fabrication work, so rather than cover it in paint he coated the entire frame with Gibbs Brand to prevent any surface rust or finger marks spoiling the appearance. “A light dusting of Gibbs was all that we needed to make the chassis look fantastic, and it’s great to know that we can paint it later with no worries” said Nick.
